For our paper airplanes we decided to do some research on distance planes and what makes them g so far, we found that there are three very important factor, shape, wing angles and symmetry. We decided to have Brendan and Jeremy focus on building the distance plane wile I made the aerobatics plane. Brendan and Jeremy came up with multiple designs.
This was the first design of several, we decided to change the design because of the inconsistency and we weren't quite satisfied with the distance, this plane was meant to glide a very long distance but because of wind conditions the gliding strategy we found to not be the best, Also because of crashes due to wind we had to make a ton of these we had around 9 by the end. So we decided to change the design.
We decided to build a dart plane and we found that it worked very well, we were able to reach the back line of the court and were doing it fairly consistently. The way this plane works is instead of creating lift and gliding it is very narrow with sharp angles s it cuts through the wind and has to be thrown very hard.
Here is our aerobatics plane we didn't research any plane designs we just started folding and we came up with a plane that does backflips, we didn't focus too much on this plane, once we had a consistent plane we just stuck with it.
