Arm Prototype 1.0
For our original design we decided to build a double resverse four bas simmilar to the one from last year, because they lift straight up and down compared to the 6bars. We used a 2 motor lift with a one motor claw and another motor to rotate the claw.
We ran into weight issues with the arm and lack of power, occasionally the arm would overheat due to its weight so we decided to change our design and instead of having it around the flywheel we are now using a catapolt on one side and a smaller version of the reverse four bar.
For this arm we are using one motor to lift but we may have to add another due to the weight that will be added when we attach the claw and also when we go to pick up the caps.
For the arm we cut C-1x2x35 down the middle so we could reduce weight and use a 1x1 L angle. We had help from mr Whitley do to this on the bansaw and had very good results.
